Chuck Canterbury, National President of the Fraternal Order of Police, offered the congratulations to President-Elect Donald J. Trump for the office of President.
“We endorsed his candidacy because he supports law enforcement and law enforcement officers,” Canterbury said. “He made that clear to the FOP and to the nation during the course of his hard-fought campaign.”
For a candidate to receive the endorsement of the Fraternal Order of Police, he must receive a two-third majority of the National Board, which is made up of one Trustee from each of the organization’s State Lodges. Mr. Trump won the FOP’s endorsement overwhelmingly.
“Our members believe – we know – that Donald Trump is a proven leader who will make the right decisions for our nation,” Canterbury said. “We look forward to working with his Administration to make America a safer place for all.”
The Fraternal Order of Police is the largest law enforcement labor organization in the United States, with more than 330,000 members.
