On Wednesday, the Summerville Journal Scene published an article covering the effects of the nationwide crisis of the War on Police.  Jenna-Ley Harrison pens an excellent article detailing the difficulties local law enforcement officers are facing during these turbulent times.

FOP Vice President Matt Woodall spoke with Ms. Harrison.  He said, “The truth is that every day we pin on that badge and work to protect our communities, we are a target for violent offenders that seek us out.”

Other local law enforcement officer interviewed for the article expressed the same concerns.

The Fraternal Order of Police has repeatedly called for hate crime legislation to protect law enforcement and called for awareness to the ongoing issue of unprovoked attacks on law enforcement.

We as a society with the help of the media, like Ms. Harrison, must demand a stop to the persecution of the officers who are giving their lives to protect us and our families.
