As our great country gets ready for Labor Day weekend, I want all to remember that our Military veterans and our Law Enforcement officers are the reason we can enjoy this holiday. Their dedication to the preservation of our way of life and the freedoms we enjoy is what allows us to enjoy family and friends during this holiday weekend.
The Labor Movement in our great country is responsible for child labor laws, workers compensation benefits, the 40 hour work week, and a whole host of employment laws dedicated to allowing most Americans to earn a decent wage.
We must always thank the leaders in the past that fought so hard to earn the rights we now enjoy and we must always be vigilant to fight to retain these rights.
I want to wish all a very Happy Labor Day and ask you to keep our First Responders in your prayers while they work to keep us safe.
Labor Day, the first Monday in September, is a creation of the labor movement and is dedicated to the social and economic achievements of American workers. It constitutes a yearly national tribute to the contributions workers have made to the strength, prosperity, and well-being of our country.
