JASPER COUNTY, SC (WJCL) – Jasper County Sheriff Chris Malphrus tells WJCL 22 News that two law enforcement officers have been shot while responding to a domestic dispute in Hardeeville.
Sheriff Malphrus says the suspect was shooting at a woman and the suspect went inside a Sanders Road home and fired at a deputy and a Hardeeville Police officer.
The deputy was shot in the shoulder/neck area while the officer was shot in the forearm.
At least one of the officers returned fire killing the suspect.
Both officers have been airlifted to Memorial University Medical Center in Savannah.
A Hardeeville Police officer and Jasper County deputy have been shot by a suspect in Sanders Subdivision in Hardeeville. According to the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office, law enforcement received a call about a domestic dispute situation involving a man shooting at a female. Jasper County deputies and Hardeeville Police officers responded to the scene.
