Alfredo_Deon_WilliamsToday in 1996, Federal Bureau of Prisons Correctional Officer Alfredo Deon Williams,29, was killed in an automobile accident on Highway 63, in Colleton County, South Carolina, while en route from FCI Estill to the Medical University of South Carolina where he was to supervise a federal inmate patient. His vehicle was struck head-on by logging truck as he came around a curve in the road.

Officer Williams had served with the Federal Bureau of Prisons for 3 years. He is survived by his wife, son, and daughter. He is interred at the New Bethel Sound of Praise Church Cemetary in Jedburg.

Alfredo Deon Williams’ name has been engraved on the South Carolina Law Enforcement Officers Memorial at the Statehouse in Columbia and at the National Law Enforcement Memorial in Washington, DC, located on panel “6, W -21”.
