I.             LEGISLATIVE NEWS AND ACTIVITY

Senior Legislative Liaison Tim Richardson and Legislative Liaison Mike Martin:

  • Met with Lou Cannon, Chairman of the Federal Officers’ Committee, and Willie Marks, Chairman of the Bureau of Engraving and Printing Police Labor Council to discuss issues impacting that agency.
  • Met with representatives of law enforcement stakeholders and staff with Smart Approaches to Marijuana (SAM) to discuss potential amendments to appropriations bills that would impact efforts to further legalization the drug.

Senior Legislative Liaison Richardson and Legislation Liaison Scott Marks:

  • Met with staff in the office of Representative J. Roger Williams (R-TX)  to discuss H.R. 3089, the “Corporate Transparency Act.”

 II.     THIS WEEK IN CONGRESS
The House and Senate are in the annual August recess and will not return to session until after Labor Day.
