On Friday, WTMA Radio and the Fraternal Order of Police presented Charleston area law enforcement agencies with individual life-saving trauma kits.
Charlie James of WTMA Radio spearheaded the fundraising efforts after hearing anti-police rhetoric. Charlie James and WTMA radio asked listeners to show their support for local law enforcement by donating to the efforts to purchase the kits.
The generosity of the community and the dedication of Charlie James and WTMA Radio made this endeavor possible.
Each kit contains a tourniquet, specialized gauze and dressing and nitrile gloves.
Local Law Enforcement Agencies receiving kits were Charleston County Aviation Authority Police Department, Charleston County Sheriff’s Office, Citadel Department of Public Safety, College of Charleston Department of Public Safety, Folly Beach Public Safety, Hanahan Police Department, Isle of Palms Police Department, Medical University of South Carolina Department of Public Safety, North Charleston Police Department, South Carolina Highway Patrol Troop 6, Sullivans Island Police Department, Trident Technical College Department of Public Safety
